Overall, this is a sweet book where the story of Panther and Solo continues right where it left off in book 2. There are 2 major conflicts that happen in this book, one right off the bat and the other about halfway through the story. Both are sensitive in nature and really the entire series hinges on these 2 aspects coming full circle. Unfortunately, it didn't do that in a way that was really satisfying. It essentially made their struggles almost pointless and handled more like filler material to make this a 3 book series.The other hard part for me that was a pretty major flaw, in my opinion, was the ending. The last chapter left me wanting more. It comes full circle but also on a bit of cliffhanger; imagine the Sopranos going to black screen (it's that frustrating btw). Although I love where Solo and Panther end up, I would have really liked to have seen the story reach it's full potential and completion. With that being said, please remember, I am a HUGE fan of The Temptation Series characters Logan and Tate (by Ella Frank). That series ended in a way that was perfect (it took 6 books to get there but it was well worth it). With Logan and Tate's story, the drama was fierce and totally relevant to the story, which this series had the opportunity to accomplish as well as. Since the issues were in a similar ilk I may have a bit higher standard because of it. This just goes back to this series essentially resulting in filler material since, none of the drama points were handled well. They could have streamed this down into a one book standalone really. It left the story lacking in my opinion that resulted in book 3 that was a bit underwhelming which was disappointing. This isn’t the usual standard I get from these authors. Sure it was romantic , happy end to these two guys story , but I felt the love scenes quite bland and repetitive and the opportunity to dazzle with fighter pilot scenes was missed.The story didn’t keep my attention , I often found my mind wander off or find something else to do , and had to force myself to finish.Other series from these two authors are exciting , fun or dramatic stuff happens to the characters , in this there was only one key jump scene, and the end of who is top and the job offers that came was all too perfect and predictable. The mean hard father even turned out a bit meek and their confrontation was a real fizzer.Don’t get me wrong tho , I love the other series these authors have written, they are incredibly talented women and have created some of my all time favorite character.So if you are after a bit of warm fuzzy soppy love between two hot pilots , then this will tick all your boxes, but if you are a hard core fan of the other amazing characters like Viper, Halo , Priest , Logan , etc , I think you might find this book a bit bland.
