This was the first time I’d read this author.It was an OK read. There were things I really liked, and others that I just didn’t get.Individually I really liked all of the characters.William was the strong protective guardian. Comfortable with the security he was hired to implement. And a complete fish out of water where the triplets were concerned. But he tried. He took a babysitting class to learn what was best for them. He played with them, talked with them and he sang them to sleep every night. Absolutely adorable.Cora was the caregiver. Becoming the triplets guardian after the sudden tragic death of their parents. Loving the girls like they were her own. She was overwhelmed and exhausted but she kept her chin up and kept going. The girls were her first and only priority. She was weary of William in the beginning, with good cause, but she was willing to bend a bit to keep the girls safe.The girls, Paige, Melody and Haley. Were adorable precocious little things. Each independent and very much their own person. Paige was the outgoing alpha of the trio. Melody was the happy carefree one, and Haley was the shy, quiet one. They were a handful, busy and in to everything. But could also be clingy and loving in the next moment.I had a hard time seeing William and Cora as a couple. There was definitely chemistry and lust between them, I just didn’t feel that “true love let’s be a real family“ connection.The girls vocabulary and actions were way more advanced than what most three year olds would have been. Especially since the were still sleeping in cribs and wearing diapers at night. Most times they read much older than their three years.The big mystery of who was after the triplets, wasn’t much of a mystery. It was interesting to see it play out on page, but not to difficult to figure out.It wasn’t a bad book, just not a great one. Not sure if I’ll be looking for the next one.It is told in dual points of view.There was no cheating, no cliffhanger.It does have a happy ever after ending. I couldn’t get past chapter 7. As a mother of 6 children, I thought Cora was over the top ridiculous. “You can’t hold a kid in a rocking chair, you could drop her.” Yeah right. Like she never rocked a child to sleep and fell asleep. Not to mention it’s not a real problem. You can help me take care of them if you take a babysitting class? That’s pretty ridiculous and I thought disrespectful. He’s not a 13yo kid. He’s a grown adult. I don’t want to put them on a schedule? If she was an actual nanny with real training, she’d know kids thrive on schedules better than random whims. Also, I loathe the “put the kids’ requests first always” mentality in books. That’s not healthy for the parents or the kids. You can’t drop everything for every whim and wish and ask. Unless your goal is to raise a brat that thinks the world revolves around them and there are no consequences. Anyway, I couldn’t finish the book because I thought she was unfair, ridiculous, uptight, and I just didn’t like her.
